Currently I work out 2-3x a week but I’m thinking about upping it to 5. I try to get at least 90 minutes and will warm up with some old ballet moves followed by jogging 1-2 miles. I alternate that with Yoga or Pilates. I use the p90x yoga tape… It’s very good and you will work up a sweat!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. My vacation ends today (tear) and I have to say, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The wedding was amazing, be sure to check back for pictures this week! It was my first time shooting a wedding and I think I did a pretty good job :-)

This outfit I wore to a fashion show they had here at the Westin. Leave it to me to find a Fashion Show wherever I go.

Soooo I mixed up the body question with this one so I guess I’ll answer the body one here. I have a naturally muscular body but I also gain weight quite easily so I try to get some sort of exercise in 3x a week. I jog (can’t get past 3 miles) and do a mixture of Pilates, yoga, and some old ballet warm ups.

I kind of go through cycles where I cut all my hair off and grow it back. This the the longest I’ve gone keeping it short. I’m think of growing it back again, what do u think? Lol

I didn’t! Well I had a few but they were easily covered by makeup. I developed freckles later on in my life after a major sunburn episode in puerto Rico. I also used to wear quite a bit of makeup.

Howdy! Long time no see I know :-)

I’m currently in Saint John for one of mt best friend’s wedding. Dasan and I came to the resort a little early for some couple time. It is so unbelievably beautiful here, lush landscapes, perfect weather…I seriously want to live here! Today we rented a Jeep and drove through the mountains, stopping at various lookout points, hidden beaches, and the ruins of an old sugar factory.

I QUIT: Stepping out on Faith

Just a few minutes ago I handed off two signed papers to my boss, announcing that on June 29th 2012 I will be leaving my job. Its bittersweet because while I’m quite fond of the people I work with and have done and IMMENSE amount of growing here, it is time that I move on and pursue my dreams.

I’ve never done anything like this before. Though I appear to have the spontaneity and ease of a free-spirited individual, the truth is I’m much more of a walk-the-line sort of person. All my life I’ve played it safe. I opted for a traditional Univeristy instead of Art School or Parsons for fear of disappointing my family. I stayed at a job for nearly five years because I convinced myself that I could never make money at the things I love. That they were just hobbies and nothing more.

And maybe I won’t be able to make money from them. Maybe they are meant to be just hobbies. But how will I know for sure if I don’t at least try? So I’m stepping out on faith and giving it a go. If it doesn’t work out, well then, back to the drawing board. I’d rather fail at something I love than sit in a cubicle wondering “what if?” for the rest of my life.

I’ll be posting a little less frequently for the next few weeks, but I promise I will be back with more posts soon!

Unsure, But Moving Forward

Yay…a ~~pity party~~ text post :-/

I’m not feeling well today. Haven’t felt that great for the past week for that matter. Between the doctors, the tests, trying to juggle photography with my full time job and now dealing with a rather harsh and very public criticism of work I already knew wasn’t my best, I am exhausted. I’m doubting myself and any small amount of talent I thought I had. And I hate it.

I know I need tougher skin, but I wouldn’t know where to begin. I’ve always been sensitive to other’s opinions about me. This transition from slaving away at a 9-5 to pursuing my creative endeavors full time was supposed to be an affront to that. And now I’m not entirely sure I can go through with it.

BUT even with that uncertainty, I move forward. Am I the best photographer? No, I’ve only been doing this for a little less than a year and I have A LOT to learn. Am I the most skilled seamstress? Hell no. All I know is that I was meant to do more than rot away in a cubicle for the rest of my life. And I’d rather be dead wrong about myself and be told by a hundred people I’ve NEVER met how atrocious my photography is than settle for a life I know I’m not meant to live. And so, I work through the hurt and the frustration. I brush away my tears and I continue to learn.

I move forward :-)

Happy Tuesday!

So on Sunday I attended The Romantic Movement, which, if you weren’t there you missed out. I wanted to wear something colorful and sexy and when I saw this giant vintage Mumu, I knew it had potential! I mean, look at the beautiful print!!!

I decided to give the dress a 40’s silhouette: very form fitting with the ruching at the hips and an off-center slit. I gave it an asymmetrical neckline to balance the slit.

I am very fond of the Value Village/ Unique Thrift store chain. Being that I sell reconstructed Vintage, (eightvintage.com) I am usually on the hunt for vintage at a bargain price. There’s one near college park on University Boulevard, one on new Hampshire ave in Silver Spring, and another I discovered the other day in Bladensburg!
